Akashima's Chikara of Nihon's Legend

Chikara is a small dream and dream fulfiller for us. As you can clearly see, we like to get fresh blood, especially from Canada. Our Shikoku mother Katja had procured fresh imports and had them tested by Embark. Since we are in very close and regular contact, we were able to see the results and one small detail immediately caught our eye. You can read from Mitcha that we were initially fixated on a black&tan girl and that we still haven't let go of this today... Chikara's mother Raiko (how beautifully he reminds us of our Reiko) is a carrier of the b&t gene. However, she herself is a (red) sesame. When we delved a little into genetics and the associated color theory, it was very, very interesting. To put it briefly and simply, there were only two possibilities with the potential fathers: sesame puppies or black sesame puppies carrying b&t, which could be visually assessed based on the test results of the parents. So we expressed our desire for a black sesame bitch.

Finally, on Halloween, the time had come. The first puppy was supposed to arrive during a walk and disappear as quickly as it had appeared. A total of three puppies were born: two males in sesame and one female in black sesame. We liked her very much and decided to bring her home with us. In exchange for Masamune, who was born two weeks later, the time finally came at the end of February 2025, and we picked her up. Masamune then moved out in March on Katja & George's return trip.

Chikara's character description didn't surprise us much, given her parents, but we must admit we expected worse. Our pack quickly gave her support and security. She orients herself very much towards them, and I'd rather leave it to our "retired gang" to train her rather than our younger colts. We very much hope that she will give us a black & tan bitch of our own. Until then, we're working on her self-confidence and environmental confidence. In the show ring, she's more confident outdoors than indoors.
