Akashima's Kochi Ken Taro Aki No Ko
Shogun Taro is the second dog we imported from Canada from Katja and George Weber. Their breeding simply speaks volumes for itself.
Taro was born in mid-September 2020.
He's a great male who takes after his father. His litter consisted of six siblings. Unfortunately, one brother and one sister didn't make it. It was a very large litter. His mother, Nori, is the daughter of Shinryu, the father of our A-litter. We were very excited about this great opportunity for our breeding program.
Taro, a story we must rewrite. Thanks to the support and help of dear friends, we were able to bring Taro from Canada to Germany despite the coronavirus pandemic.
We love him, he's indescribable, but as so often happens, fate has a different plan. Taro's open and charming character is indescribable. All hearts lie at his feet. Including those of Elvira and Alexander. A connection that fate intended, perhaps stronger than ours.
At the beginning of 2021, Taro started changing teeth. During a routine training check, it caught my eye... It wasn't supposed to look like this. I quickly took pictures and briefly chatted with our dear emergency Nicky. Shortly after, I had an appointment with the doctor in Halle and, under light anesthesia, the shocking realization came: a dental defect. After consulting with my breeding supervisor and the stud book office, as well as many fellow breeders and veterinarians, the diagnosis remained unchanged. The end result: exclusion from breeding. Our dream shattered. But what now?
Many thoughts went around in circles and we took a step we never wanted to take - giving up a child.
But we felt more compelled than willing to do this, because rules are binding. Another call that would change the lives of many people.
After consulting with Katja and a phone call with Elvira, the decision was made: TaroTaro is moving to Bielefeld to live with his traveling parents.
In retrospect, I can only believe that it was meant to be this way and that it was preordained. There are simply too many "coincidences" when you look at everything again.
TaroTaro, we miss you very much and still cry for you, our shining golden bear. But you have paradise on earth with Elvira and Alex and wonderful parents. This is how fates connect and legends are born...
You've connected us with wonderful people. We can only love you and thank you for everything. <3
